Next Generation Training
Finding, training and retaining qualified personnel is becoming increasingly difficult for law enforcement agencies. State and federal mandated training raise financial and time burdens for agencies. RMD Associates, LLC, have developed a training system, Public Safety Training System (PSTS) for law enforcement agencies which saves time and money while providing the best training tailored to the agency’s own standards. Our system is inexpensive, easy to use, and integrates many other functions which are useful to the agency.
New recruits have been brought up on television, computers, video games, and cellular devices. From these technologies overwhelming information has been provided to this generation who has absorbed knowledge in small snippets. Staying focused during hands on training, such as shooting, driving, building searches, etc., is easy. But, retaining information provided during hours of lectures is difficult. Crucial information that is not retained, and not used by the officer in the field, can lead to a lower conviction rate and civil litigation. Our system allows your department to train daily, a few minutes at a time.
Many agencies divide their personnel into four groups i.e. three eight hours shifts and a reserve. The training officers often teach the same material four times, and often some officers are not available. Classroom training pulls officers off the street. All agencies are constrained by their budgets. Duplication of effort represents time and money lost.
Some training will always be hands-on, such as shooting, driving, hand-to-hand combat, and the like, but elements such as, when to shoot, when to begin a high speed pursuit, are best taught often and in short segments. Officers are often confronted with continual policy changes. Our system provides verifiable proof that your policies were received and understood by the officer. The officer can remain in the field while being trained.
Officers are well trained and know exactly what to do in each scenario because of repetition, which develops the correct knee-jerk response to the situation. For example, traffic officers who have often reviewed the requirements for a successful driving-under-the-influence conviction will not omit an element necessary for the conviction.
Our system at RMD Associates, LLC, is unique, simple to use, effective, and inexpensive.
